Bag of Donuts

Bag of Donuts

Autobiography: We started out in 1988 like most cover bands do, but we were much worse. It didn't take us long to figure out that we had better do something visual, to take away from the fact that we were so terrible. In the beginning we played any venue that we could, for a bar tab, for anything! We would practice anywhere we could and we would tell our girlfriends that we really were practicing. But being an ordinary, run of the mill cover band just did't seem to ring our bell. Sooo we came up with the idea of wearing costumes and making fun of ourselves before anyone else could. The BAG OF DONUTS members are John(Dupes), Kevin, Jerry and Jonathan. Over the years we have done our best to create colorful shows and entertain our fans. We have won "Best Cover Band in New Orleans" three times. In 1998 we went into the studio to record an original CD aptly titled "Glazed And Confused." We followed up a few years later with a Live CD recorded at the House Of Blues here in New Orleans. We have played thousands of gigs over the years and have been lucky enough to travel to places like Jamaica, Cozumel and all the way up to cold Minnesota. In 2003 the culmination of years of hard work brought us to the New Orleans Jazz And Heritage Festival. These last 19 years would not have been possible without our loyal fans and friends here in New Orleans and beyond.

Chee Weez

The Chee Weez

The Chee-Weez is a New Orleans, Louisiana area cover band that was formed in 1997 by Kris LaCoste shortly after parting ways with his previous cover band "Black Diamond". After Kris left, its remaining members went on to form Tom's House and played original music until they disbanded just prior to Hurricane Katrina. The Chee-Weez originally covered only Disco tunes but now has branched out and evolved to a variety of music genres from the 1970s to today. The band's famous "trademark" gesture is "showing the love" to mature audiences by flipping the finger. The audience promptly reciprocates "the love" to the band members. Another feature at almost every show is the costumes that the band members wear which is in constant rotation and changes. Past and present themes include disco garb, patriotic themes, various superheroes, Blue Man Group, New Orleans Hornets jerseys, LSU Tigers football jerseys, New Orleans Saints jerseys, The Blues Brothers, Mickey Mouse Club, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Top Gun flight suits, World War II style Army gear and GEICO Cavemen.511dots.png
