Description
The Howlin’ Wolf, located in the Warehouse District, is one of the most unique live music venues in New Orleans. Named after the influential blues musician Chester "Howlin' Wolf" Burnett, the venue was opened in 1988 to serve the New Orleans music community. It is a former warehouse with a mural painted by a local artist that outlines New Orleans history in a colorful and musical way.
Many bands that pass through New Orleans play at the Howlin’ Wolf, so it is a diverse art space. It also provides a place to play for local bands, such as Rebirth Brass Band, which adds to the local flavor of the venue. If you’re in New Orleans and want to see a nationally touring band, chances are you’ll end up at the Howlin’ Wolf.
